About Heal Home

Upon witnessing the decrepit conditions of recreational areas in low-income communities in New York City, including baseball fields in the South Bronx, we were inspired to start a movement to restore and develop these parks and facilities. The evident disparities between affluent communities and non-affluent communities can no longer be overlooked. There is a dire need for extracurricular activities in our community for a myriad of reasons, including prevention of predisposition to health issues due to lack of exercise and lack of availability of physical activities, and to divert our children's attention from engaging in troubling behaviors to, instead, participation in productive activities, such as sports. We are challenging ourselves to advocate on behalf of non-affluent communities and shed light on the policies which overlook disparities between the haves and the have-nots. We are challenging ourselves to revive unkempt parks and facilities for the children of today, as well as future generations, in the low-income communities of New York City.
